WHITE SHELLS // OUTCOME DOSSIER

All 4 IRON NEST Endings in White Shells

UNOFFICIAL GUIDE · Public evidence reviewed August 14, 2026 · Official patch baseline at research: Version 1.0 (1618) / Patch #4 · Full ending spoilers

00 // LOW-SPOILER BRIEF

Low-spoiler answer

IRON NEST has four officially named Campaign outcome achievements, all associated with the White Shells finale in the available evidence. Three observed routes resolve the fate of Barcelona with different shells; the fourth turns against command and spares the city. Chill mode is separate and is not a fifth Campaign ending.

01 // OUTCOME COUNT

How many endings does IRON NEST have?

Evidence: OFFICIAL names · CONFLICTED numbering

Steam lists four named outcome achievements for IRON NEST: Heavy Turret Simulator:

  1. A City in Celebration
  2. A City Subdued
  3. A City Silent
  4. The Road Not Taken

Those names are the safest way to identify an ending. Steam does not publish an official Ending 1–4 order, and videos, Reddit posts, and other guides assign the numbers differently. If you searched for IRON NEST Ending 2 or Ending 3, match the action and achievement name instead of trusting the number.

The official achievement page confirms the names, not the triggers. The route details below come from release-version gameplay videos, two third-party guides, and dated community reports.

02 // EVIDENCE CONTROL

How to read the evidence labels

This guide uses traceable public sources; it does not claim author gameplay testing.

official
A developer or official platform source directly confirms the stated fact. An official achievement name does not by itself confirm its trigger.
observed
Public release-version footage visibly connects the stated action, state, or result. A screenshot supports only what is visible in that frame; a sequence claim requires a continuous segment.
reported
A third-party guide or community source describes the step, but the reviewed footage does not show the full chain.
conflicted
Sources disagree, so this guide shows the conflict instead of selecting an official answer.

Unless a section says otherwise, OBSERVED footage on this page was reviewed on August 14, 2026 and does not display a build number. The label does not mean the route was reproduced on Patch #4.

03 // OUTCOME MATRIX

All IRON NEST endings at a glance

Four named achievements and the narrowest routes supported by the available evidence
Named achievement Narrow route supported by the available evidence Outcome Evidence
A City in Celebration Fire a PRPG shell at Barcelona Barcelona celebrates and welcomes peace OBSERVED · one complete PRPG chain plus one independent outcome
A City Subdued Fire CYAN or WP at Barcelona Barcelona is subdued and order is restored OBSERVED · one CYAN chain plus one WP chain
A City Silent Fire ATMC at Barcelona Barcelona is left silent and destroyed OBSERVED · two ATMC chains
The Road Not Taken Attack High Command, then remove the artillery that retaliates against Iron Nest The General dies and Barcelona is spared OBSERVED outcome · REPORTED combat route

04 // REPLAY BOUNDARY

How to get all endings from White Shells

Treat each named outcome as a separate finale attempt. REPORTED: two third-party guides say you can restart or replay the finale instead of repeating the entire Campaign. The reviewed public evidence does not continuously show the Patch #4 replay entry, state reset, supplies, map marks, or achievement persistence. Do not assume a reset worked until the current White Shells state is visibly fresh.

For a clear collection order, attempt the three direct city-shell outcomes first and the betrayal route last. That order is organizational, not a verified speedrun or resource rule.

Before every attempt:

  1. Confirm that the current operation is White Shells and read the latest order before firing.
  2. Choose one named outcome; do not use a community number as your only reference.
  3. For a city route, load the exact observed shell named below and target Barcelona.
  4. For The Road Not Taken, prepare for a separate artillery fight instead of firing at Barcelona.
  5. Wait for the teleprinter and newspaper result before deciding the route worked.
  6. Record the named outcome and visible build, if any. The reviewed videos did not show the Steam achievement pop-up.
  7. If you replay the finale, verify that targets, events, loads, and progression actually reset before spending another attempt.

The following sections use only the narrowest trigger supported by the reviewed footage. A broad label such as “any non-lethal shell” or “any chemical shell” is not treated as verified.

ROUTE // A CITY IN CELEBRATION

A City in Celebration

Evidence: OBSERVED · one complete PRPG-to-result chain plus one independent outcome

Trigger

Fire a PRPG shell at Barcelona. In the reviewed Levas footage, the ammunition card visibly shows PRPG, the shell is fired at the city, the teleprinter describes bells and an era of unity and peace, and the White Shells result records one shot with no kills. See the PRPG card, the result message, and the result statistics.

TimHawk's separate video shows the same Celebration result text and newspaper outcome, although the reviewed segment does not provide a readable PRPG load. See the independent Celebration result.

What to expect

The result text describes Barcelona celebrating and welcoming peace. Use A City in Celebration as the canonical outcome name even if another video calls this Ending 1, 2, or 3.

FRAME // TRIGGER Player footage: Levas, “IRON NEST Heavy Turret Simulator - All Endings,” 11:46.50. Captured August 14, 2026; release-version footage; build not shown.

FRAME // OUTCOME Player footage: Levas, “IRON NEST Heavy Turret Simulator - All Endings,” 15:38.50. Captured August 14, 2026; release-version footage; build not shown.

If it did not trigger

  • Check that the loaded shell was actually PRPG, not another smoke, illumination, or non-lethal-looking shell.
  • Check that the shot was directed at Barcelona, not High Command or a battlefield target.
  • Wait for the finale result instead of judging the route only from the impact effect.
  • If the same action behaves differently, record the visible build and original evidence.

REPORTED variant: one third-party guide describes a broader “non-lethal” category. The reviewed footage does not show other shells producing this result, so the main route recommends only PRPG.

ROUTE // A CITY SUBDUED

A City Subdued

Evidence: OBSERVED · one CYAN-to-result chain plus one WP-to-result chain

Triggers

Two specific shells produced the Subdued outcome in two different release-version videos:

What to expect

The result identifies Barcelona as subdued and says order was restored. The footage supports CYAN and WP individually; it does not establish a universal chemical-shell class rule.

FRAME // TRIGGER Player footage: TimHawk, “IRON NEST: Heavy Turret Simulator - ALL ENDINGS,” 04:32.50. Captured August 14, 2026; release-version footage; build not shown.

FRAME // OUTCOME Player footage: Levas, “IRON NEST Heavy Turret Simulator - All Endings,” 18:08.50. Captured August 14, 2026; release-version footage; build not shown.

If it did not trigger

  • Use one of the two observed shells rather than an unverified substitute.
  • Verify the shell shown on the physical gun control before firing.
  • Confirm that Barcelona—not High Command—was the target.
  • Do not assume Nerve Agent or every chemical-type shell is equivalent. Other variants appear in guide claims, not in the reviewed trigger footage.

Scope: only CYAN and WP have direct video chains in the reviewed evidence.

ROUTE // A CITY SILENT

A City Silent

Evidence: OBSERVED · two independent ATMC-to-result chains

Trigger

Fire ATMC at Barcelona. This is the strongest observed city-shell route in the current evidence set:

What to expect

The newspaper describes Barcelona as silent and flattened. The official outcome name is A City Silent; the videos do not show the achievement pop-up, but they independently connect ATMC with the same finale result.

FRAME // TRIGGER Player footage: Levas, “IRON NEST Heavy Turret Simulator - All Endings,” 02:02.53. Captured August 14, 2026; release-version footage; build not shown.
IRON NEST ending newspaper with the headline Barcelona Is Silent.
FRAME // OUTCOME Player footage: Levas, “IRON NEST Heavy Turret Simulator - All Endings,” 06:22.50. Captured August 14, 2026; release-version footage; build not shown.

If it did not trigger

  • Confirm that ATMC is shown on the loaded gun and that the shell is armed.
  • Confirm that the firing solution targets Barcelona.
  • Check the teleprinter and newspaper before treating the lack of an achievement notification as a failed route.
  • Record the current build and result screen if the outcome differs.

The footage also shows a requisition price in one run, but price and inventory are not part of this guide's trigger claim and may change independently.

ROUTE // THE ROAD NOT TAKEN

The Road Not Taken

Evidence: OBSERVED outcome · REPORTED combat route

The Road Not Taken is not another shell choice for Barcelona. It is a betrayal route that turns Iron Nest against command, produces a TRAITOR state, and ends with the General dead and Barcelona spared.

Recommended route, with evidence limits

Two third-party guides and multiple community reports recommend this sequence:

  1. Prepare your firing information and enough resources for a follow-up fight before committing to betrayal.
  2. Attack High Command instead of firing at Barcelona.
  3. When the teleprinter reclassifies Iron Nest as hostile, read the new messages and locate the artillery that can retaliate.
  4. Destroy the active retaliation targets shown in your current operation.
  5. Continue until the finale result confirms that the General died and Barcelona was spared.

What to expect

The outcome is directly supported by two videos: Levas shows a TRAITOR message and later the city-spared newspaper, while TimHawk independently shows the same hostile state and result. See the Levas betrayal state, the Levas outcome, the TimHawk betrayal state, and the TimHawk outcome.

FRAME // BETRAYAL-STATE Player footage: Levas, “IRON NEST Heavy Turret Simulator - All Endings,” 08:02.50. Captured August 14, 2026; release-version footage; build not shown.

FRAME // OUTCOME Player footage: Levas, “IRON NEST Heavy Turret Simulator - All Endings,” 37:17.50. Captured August 14, 2026; release-version footage; build not shown.

Route limit: the videos do not reveal a complete fixed target list, a universal number of retaliation guns, their spawn positions, or one mandatory reconnaissance method.

If The Road Not Taken did not trigger

You never received the TRAITOR message. REPORTED: the route sources point to High Command, not Barcelona. The reviewed videos do not show the first trigger as one complete sequence, so preserve any differing teleprinter response.

You attacked High Command but received no ending. Multiple non-official sources report that destroying High Command alone is not enough. Continue reading the new orders and remove the artillery that is actively returning fire against Iron Nest.

Reconnaissance looks clear but the fight continues. Use fresh information and inspect the current operation rather than copying a fixed target count. One Discord player reported that scout planes missed the last three or four guns and that Star Shells revealed them. That report has no build or video and does not prove the number is fixed or that Star Shell is mandatory.

You ran out of resources after betrayal. REPORTED: one guide recommends buying what you need in advance. Current public evidence does not establish a supply lock, exact inventory, or fixed cost, so treat preparation as a precaution rather than a rule.

The outcome appeared but the achievement did not. Separate the newspaper result from the Steam unlock. Capture the named outcome and visible build, then check the Pride of Castile note below if you are collecting every White Shells medal.

09 // CLAIM BOUNDARY

Why Ending 2 and Ending 3 do not match every guide

Evidence: CONFLICTED numbering · OFFICIAL named achievements

There is no verified official numbering map. In the reviewed Google results, Ending 2 was variously assigned to the propaganda route, the ATMC/Silent route, and the Subdued route. Video chapters also use creator-defined orders.

Use the four Steam achievement names as the canonical labels:

  • Want the celebration outcome? Follow A City in Celebration.
  • Want the subdued outcome? Follow A City Subdued.
  • Want the destroyed-city outcome? Follow A City Silent.
  • Want the betrayal outcome? Follow The Road Not Taken.

This avoids solving the wrong route when a search result calls it Ending 2 or Ending 3.

10 // CLAIM BOUNDARY

White Shells mission vs. ending choices

Evidence: OBSERVED Campaign sequence

One continuous full-game recording shows White Shells as the final named Campaign operation. That is an observed sequence, not a developer-published Mission 15 number.

This page covers only the finale choices, named outcomes, and related failure checks. It does not provide White Shells enemy positions, resources, coordinates, bearing, range, elevation, or a complete combat walkthrough. Those belong in a dedicated mission guide if that page is later researched and published.

See all currently documented IRON NEST Campaign missions.

11 // CLAIM BOUNDARY

Does Chill mode have an ending?

Evidence: OFFICIAL mode boundary · REPORTED current exit flow

No—not as a fifth Campaign story ending. The official FAQ describes Chill mode as tracking cumulative confirmed kills across completed runs, while historical developer messages describe it as having no end, goal, or timer. Both place it outside the White Shells outcome set.

Those developer messages are from the pre-release period. Current public evidence does not establish a Version 1.0 procedure for leaving Chill mode, sleeping, receiving a newspaper, or settling a run. A dated community message describes a sleep-and-newspaper flow, but it does not show the current UI.

12 // CLAIM BOUNDARY

Why Pride of Castile may not unlock

Evidence: OFFICIAL achievement description · REPORTED unlock problem

Steam lists Pride of Castile as the achievement associated with earning gold medals in White Shells. Between August 9 and August 13, 2026, several players reported completing the four outcomes without receiving it.

As of this research check, no observed developer reply or patch note confirmed a bug, explained a root cause, or provided a universal fix. A community theory says the game may be checking mutually exclusive medals within one run, but that is speculation. If the achievement does not unlock, keep screenshots of the four named results and the visible build, then check newer official patch notes before repeating the full set.

13 // FIELD QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

How many endings does IRON NEST have?

Steam lists four named Campaign outcome achievements: A City in Celebration, A City Subdued, A City Silent, and The Road Not Taken. The official page does not give them a stable Ending 1–4 order.

Can you get all four endings from one Campaign save?

REPORTED: two third-party guides say the White Shells finale can be restarted for another outcome. The reviewed public evidence does not show the Patch #4 replay entry, state reset, or achievement persistence as one continuous sequence. Confirm that the finale actually reset before relying on one save.

Which outcome is Ending 2 or Ending 3?

There is no reliable universal mapping. Search results and video chapters use different orders. Match the desired trigger and Steam achievement name instead of following a number alone.

Why did The Road Not Taken not trigger?

Check for the TRAITOR message after attacking High Command, then continue against the active retaliation artillery. Non-official sources report that High Command alone is not enough. Fixed target counts and Star Shell requirements remain unverified.

Does every non-lethal or chemical shell work?

Not proven. OBSERVED: the reviewed footage supports PRPG for Celebration, CYAN or WP for Subdued, and ATMC for Silent. Broader shell categories appear only in guide claims and are not shown in the reviewed footage.

Does Chill mode have an ending?

Chill mode is not a fifth Campaign ending. Official and historical developer information describes it as a separate cumulative or endless mode. The current Version 1.0 exit and settlement flow was not verified.

Why did Pride of Castile not unlock?

Several players reported this problem in August 2026, but no official confirmation, cause, or universal fix was observed. Keep evidence of each named result and check the latest official patch notes before repeating the set.

Is there a secret fifth or Cannon Ending?

No fifth officially named Campaign outcome is supported by the current evidence. A short video calls a king-kill route a secret ending, but it lacks independent or official support. A separate video titled Cannon Ending never reaches White Shells and does not show a finale outcome.
