HOW THE MISSION COUNT WAS VERIFIED

NAMES ≠ ORDER ≠ INFERENCE

OFFICIALLY NAMED

Steam achievement names

Steam achievements officially name the 15 missions listed in the Missions Hub, including “Fire and Light”, “Blind Fire”, and “White Shells”. Steam orders the page by global unlock rate, not Campaign sequence.

OBSERVED ORDER

One continuous run

One continuous full-game run proceeds from Calibration Fire through White Shells in the listed 1–15 sequence. This is the sequence observed in one continuous full-game run, not a developer-published numbered mission list.

Observed full-game run ↗

COUNT INFERENCE

Why the evidence can look like 14

The full-game story Campaign contains 15 named missions: Steam provides 14 progression achievements, while White Shells is still officially named by its gold-medal achievement, and a continuous full-game run corroborates the 15-mission count. Counting only the progression achievements can therefore produce 14 instead of 15. That explanation is an inference from the evidence structure, not a claim about why any third-party answer chose 14.

CAMPAIGN VS CHALLENGE MISSIONS VS DEMO

THREE SEPARATE SCOPES

STORY CAMPAIGN

15 named Campaign missions

This page indexes the full game's story Campaign. The developer estimates that a Campaign run with each mission completed once and no replay takes roughly 8–12 hours. This is a rough developer estimate based on internal and community playtests, not a standard duration or promise.

Steam achievements ↗ Developer FAQ ↗

SEPARATE MODE

Challenge Missions

The developer FAQ treats the story Campaign and Challenge Missions as separate modes; Challenge Missions are not part of the 15-mission Campaign count. The separate mode has procedural objectives, unlocks, and leaderboards.

Developer FAQ ↗

SEPARATE APP

IRON NEST Demo

The Demo is a separate Steam app, and its official store page does not state a current mission count. The current Demo mission total is not officially confirmed; use /demo/ for the dedicated evidence boundary. Use the Demo evidence guide for that dedicated boundary.

HOW MISSIONS WORK

OFFICIAL LOOP · NO FIXED SOLUTIONS

The official mission loop moves from teleprinter orders through notebook and map work, ballistic calculation, loading and firing, result feedback, the newspaper, and sleep before the next mission. Individual missions can change the information and feedback you receive; this overview intentionally supplies no target-specific values.

  1. Read the current orders from the teleprinter.
  2. Record the mission details in the notebook and measure the tactical map.
  3. Use the ballistic calculator to translate the current information into a firing setup.
  4. Select ammunition and powder charges that match the current orders.
  5. Lay the turret, load the guns, and fire when the setup is ready.
  6. Check result feedback from the map, recon photos, teleprinter, audio, or later orders.
  7. Read the newspaper after the mission resolves.
  8. Sleep to advance to the next mission, using the Requisition Console between missions when needed.

STUCK ON A MISSION?

DIAGNOSE BEFORE YOU REPLAY
  • Check whether the current teleprinter orders or mission phase has changed.
  • Confirm that the map work used the correct origin, bearing, or distance information from the current orders.
  • Recheck that the ammunition type and powder charges match the current orders.
  • Inspect turret rotation, elevation, linkage, and the state of both guns.
  • Review the latest impact, recon photo, newspaper, or new command for a changed target or phase.
  • Check whether the mission appears in the official Patch #1–#4 reliability or balance notes below.
  • If the problem remains, use only a published guide verified for the current version or an official discussion.

RESTART OR REPLAY A MISSION

Current reset scope is unverified

No verified current procedure is available for restarting or replaying a mission in Version 1.0 (1618). Official patches document earlier replay and reset fixes, but do not establish current steps or what progress, supplies, map marks, and events reset.

RESTART THE ENGINE

Mission language, not a reset command

“Restart the engine” belongs to a specific mission context. It is not a synonym for restarting the mission or resetting campaign state, and this Hub does not turn that distinction into a mission solution.

PATCH-SENSITIVE MISSION NOTES

MISSIONS FAQ

DIRECT ANSWERS · VERSION BOUNDARIES
  1. How many missions are in IRON NEST?

IRON NEST has 15 named Campaign missions in the full game. This count was last verified against Version 1.0 (1618) on August 12, 2026; Challenge Missions and the separate Demo are outside this Campaign total.

The current Demo mission total is not officially confirmed; use /demo/ for the dedicated evidence boundary.

  2. What is the last campaign mission?

White Shells is the fifteenth and last mission in the observed Campaign order. That position comes from one continuous full-game run, not a developer-published numbered mission list.

This is the sequence observed in one continuous full-game run, not a developer-published numbered mission list.

  3. Why do some answers say 14 missions?

A progression-achievement-only count produces 14. Steam also names White Shells in its all-gold-medals achievement, so we count all 15 named missions and use a continuous run only for their order; this evidence pattern does not prove why any particular third-party answer says 14.

This is the sequence observed in one continuous full-game run, not a developer-published numbered mission list.

  4. Do Challenge Missions count toward the 15?

No. The developer FAQ treats Challenge Missions as a separate mode with procedural objectives, unlocks, and leaderboards, so they are not added to the 15 named story Campaign missions.

  5. How many missions are in the IRON NEST Demo?

Not officially confirmed. The Demo is a separate Steam app, and its official store page does not state a current mission total; the Demo guide owns the dedicated evidence boundary.

    Check the Demo evidence boundary

The current Demo mission total is not officially confirmed; use /demo/ for the dedicated evidence boundary.

  6. Can you restart or replay a mission?

No verified current procedure is available for Version 1.0 (1618), so this page does not provide restart or replay steps. Official patches confirm earlier replay and reset bugs were fixed, but not what progress, supplies, map marks, or events reset now.

Official patches document earlier replay and reset fixes, but do not establish current steps or what progress, supplies, map marks, and events reset.

  7. How long does the Campaign take?

The developer estimates roughly 8–12 hours when each Campaign mission is completed once without replaying. It is a playtest-based estimate, not a standard completion time or promise.

This is a rough developer estimate based on internal and community playtests, not a standard duration or promise.

  8. Are Mission 2 and Mission 3 called Fire and Light and Liberation?

Yes. Steam achievements use the names Fire and Light and Liberation, and the observed continuous run places them second and third. Fire & Light is a video-title variant, not the canonical display name.

This is the sequence observed in one continuous full-game run, not a developer-published numbered mission list.
